Impressed from the inside out.
I've been really impressed with the care at Coastal Home Care, and honestly grateful for it. Everyone on staff, whether they're hands-on with residents or working behind the scenes, is warm and easy to talk to, and they clearly put a lot of thought into making the place comfortable for residents and visitors alike. The inside is modern and bright, with plenty of nice spaces for dining, relaxing, staying active, and just feeling well. The garden out back is private enough to be a pleasant change from being indoors. I'd recommend Coastal Home Care to anyone looking at assisted living. You pay for quality here, and compared to the alternatives, it shows.

He calls it home, and that says a lot.
Writing this for my father-in-law, who's been living at Coastal Home Care for about ten months now. He calls it home, and that says a lot coming from him. The staff are genuinely caring and helpful, and they treat him with real respect. Everyone we've met has been polite and considerate.
He's been unwell recently, and they went out of their way to care for him and keep him comfortable in the home rather than sending him off to the hospital, which is exactly what he'd have wanted. Knowing he was looked after in a familiar place, by people who know him, made a hard stretch a lot easier on the whole family.
It isn't cheap, but good care rarely is, and we feel like we're getting what we pay for.

A smaller home that let Mom keep her independence.
When we started looking for care for my mother, our biggest worry wasn't the medication or the meals. It was whether she'd feel like her choices were being taken away. She'd lived on her own for close to forty years, and accepting help never came easily to her. We chose Coastal Home Care because it's small, and we hoped that meant the caregivers could actually learn who she is.
Before she moved in, they went through her medications, her mobility, the foods she likes, and how her days usually go. We brought her old chair, her quilt, the family photos, and her television, and the room slowly started to feel like hers. One small thing has stayed with me. A caregiver noticed Mom was embarrassed about needing help getting dressed, so she began setting out two outfits each morning and letting Mom make the final choice. That kind of attention is exactly why we wanted a smaller home.
The staff help with bathing, medication, and moving around safely, but they still let her do whatever she can manage herself. Her morning caregiver and the woman who coordinates appointments are the ones we've come to rely on. We hear from them after doctor visits and whenever her appetite or mood shifts.
It hasn't been flawless. One appointment was almost missed because a transport time got written down wrong. They caught it, rescheduled, and started a shared calendar so it wouldn't happen again. Mom eats more regularly now and spends less time alone in her room. If your relative dislikes large facilities, this could be for you. One thing; ask how they track medications and health changes.

Happier than she's been in years.
My grandma is thriving here, and I feel like the lucky one. The staff have been warm with all of us from day one, but especially with her. She's happier than she's been in years, she's found her people, and she talks up the staff every time we call.
They treat me great too. Whether I show up with the whole family or swing by on my own, it's always a friendly welcome. I trust she's well looked after, and that peace of mind means everything. This place is something special, and I'm grateful she gets to call it home.
