Ivy Park at Tustin has helped my once fiercely independent aunt regain her confidence.
My aunt moved to Ivy Park at Tustin about four months ago, after a fall left her needing more help. What worried us was that she'd always been fiercely independent and hated asking for anything, plus she's a vegetarian and her mobility wasn't what it used to be. Before she moved in, we sat down with the teams to go over her diet, her medications and what she could and couldn't manage on her own.
The dining staff surprised me most. Instead of handing her the same vegetarian plate every day, someone from the culinary team actually talks through the options with her. Her LVN and afternoon caregiver give her a hand getting around without hovering, so she still feels like she's calling her own shots. She's walking to meals with more confidence now and has started going to yoga and the live-music events.
It hasn't been flawless. We got a helpful call after her first week, but later we had to follow up ourselves on a routine update. Her first salon appointment was also rescheduled without anyone telling us, though the staff apologized and set up a clearer way to confirm appointments going forward.
My advice to other families is to nail down exactly what's included, what costs extra, and who to call about care, dining and activities.

Ivy Park is well managed and my mother is happy there.
Overall Ivy Park is run well, the management is solid, and my mother is happy living there. Where it falls short is communication. Some of the staff weren't told she's a vegetarian, and it still slips through now and then even though she's made it clear more than once. The team also seems stretched thin at times, so she doesn't always get the extra few minutes she needs. Some of the staff are genuinely warm and friendly, while others, unfortunately, are not. It's a good place with real room to improve.

He never wants to leave.
Ivy Park has been wonderful for my uncle. He's a naturally anxious person, but since moving in he's really come out of his shell and tells us he never wants to leave. He's happier than we've seen him in a long time, and we're grateful to the whole staff for the care they've shown him. Thank you.

Dad receives thoughtful, personal care, but communication with our family could be more consistent.
My dad has lived in Evergreen memory care at Ivy Park at Tustin for seven months. Moving him was an emotional decision for our family. His dementia had progressed to the point where he needed a secure setting, medication management, around-the-clock support, and a structured daily routine. We were especially concerned because unfamiliar places make him anxious, and he sometimes refuses help from people he doesn’t recognize.
We brought labeled family photographs, his favorite chair, and his record player to make his new surroundings feel more familiar. The staff also asked about his career, military service, and usual routine. That information made a real difference. During one difficult evening, a caregiver used familiar music and family photographs to calm him rather than rushing him. It showed us the value of staff knowing the person behind the diagnosis.
The care partners, medical technician, and programming team support Dad with grooming, medication, meals, and mobility, adapting their approach to his mood. He’s gradually become calmer since settling into a predictable morning routine and now recognizes several regular caregivers.
Communication has been the weakest part of our experience. Different relatives occasionally received different versions of minor updates, which caused avoidable confusion. Things improved after we appointed one family contact and arranged a scheduled weekly call with the care team.
My advice to other families is to share as much personal history as possible. Familiar music, stories, habits, and photographs can help caregivers build a connection. There have been meaningful positives during Dad’s seven months here, but communication still needs greater consistency, which is why I’m giving three stars.

Wonderful Care and Peace of Mind.
My mother has received wonderful care at Ivy Park at Tustin. The caregivers are kind, professional, and attentive to her individual needs, and the management team has always been responsive and supportive. Knowing she is safe, comfortable, and well cared for gives me genuine peace of mind. I would gladly recommend Ivy Park to any family looking for compassionate care for a loved one.

Nine months in, Ivy Park at Tustin kept my mother safe and social without stripping away her independence.
My mother moved into Ivy Park at Tustin about nine months ago, and I'll admit our family was nervous. She had lived in the same house for thirty-one years, and after leaving it she needed help with her medication and with bathing, but she still wanted her own apartment and a real social life. We also wanted her close, since the Tustin location keeps her near both of us. Our biggest worry was that she'd feel she had given up her independence.
What eased that fear was small and specific. The move-in coordinator helped us arrange her photographs and furniture before walking her down to lunch and introducing her to a few neighbors. When she was too nervous to attend her first painting class alone, someone from the activities team went with her. The medication technicians have been consistent, and they actually called me when a question came up about a prescription change rather than deciding on their own.
It hasn't been flawless. Her laundry came back a day late that first month, though the staff tracked down the missing pieces and explained how collections would be labeled going forward.
She's less isolated now and looks forward to art and afternoon meals with friends. My advice to other families is to ask detailed questions about the care plan, then give your relative time to settle into a routine and form friendships.
